The founders of SmartBooks bring business acumen and highly relevant experience to the table.

SmartBooks was founded by Calvin and Jenny Wilder, two people trusted by the leaders of many small and mid-size businesses for sound business advice and for helping them meet their organizational goals.

A summa cum laude graduate of Duke University, Calvin Wilder has worked in senior executive positions in finance, investment management and operations for more than 12 years including founding Thrive Networks, Inc., which grew to become New England's leading provider of outsourced IT services to small businesses. As Chief Financial Officer and Chairman, Calvin built and managed Thrive's financial and accounting operations, helped drive the company's strategic development, and ultimately managed Thrive's acquisition by Staples, Inc. Calvin has designed and managed accounting policies and procedures for numerous small and mid-size businesses and is trusted to effectively balance client accounting needs, reporting priorities, operational requirements, and budget constraints.

Jenny Wilder is a business attorney who has worked with a wide range of clients in diverse industries. She co-founded and managed her own law firm with a focus on responsively and affordably meeting the legal needs of small and midsized businesses. Jenny helped manage the firm's internal accounting and financial operations. One of her practice areas was commercial collections, and Jenny has helped businesses significantly improve their accounts receivable management practices and collections results.
